Take Action on the ZTA 18-11 After Council Delayed Vote

Summary of Outcome of October 23 County Council Meeting on ZTA 18-11:
Councilman Tucker put forth his amendments to the ZTA and defended them with facts. The Council voted on the amendment and the amendment (not the ZTA) passed 6 to 3. Hucker's amendment is a great start but does not give us full protections. THUS, the ZTA 18-11 in current form does not protect residents to the full extent of the law. More amendments need to be added. We are calling for a Vote NO on the current ZTA unless all the Resident's Amendments are added to the bill. Reimer delayed the vote until next week. He was not pleased with the Amendments.

We do not want 20 cubic feet boxes in our front yard. We do not want street lights that tower above trees in our yard. We do not want transmitting antennas close to our bedrooms.

• Reimer, Floreen and Rice voted AGAINST Tuckers Amendment. Contact THEM. 
• Navarro, Berlinger, Leventhal, Elrich and Katz voted FOR the amendment. Please THANK THEM! 

Please thank the Council folks who raised our concerns and voted for Tuckers amendment. It is a GREAT start but does not ensure safety for our community. In regards to Reimer, Floreen and Rice who voted against residents protections, lets just keep on sharing our voices and love them to the other side.

The ZTA 18-11 (even with amendments) is not acceptable. It cannot pass until ALL resident proposed amendments are adopted. Tell the Council the ZTA is NOT ready to pass.

1. Educate your community: Post on your neighborhood list serve and talk to your neighbors so they raise their informed voice.
