Alert: Your Voice Needed at Montgomery County Hearing
New Proposed Zoning Would Allow Cell Antennas In Front of Your Home
The Problem
Montgomery Council Council is fast tracking a cell phone tower zoning Bill (ZTA) that will allow mini cell towers in our yards called ZTA (18-11).
ZTA 18-11 will make it even easier and faster to install large, ugly cell poles in our neighborhoods in front of our homes- along with up to 20 cubic feet equipment boxes. Cell antennas will be mounted on street lights, utility poles, sides of buildings.
Your thin street light will be replaced with a fatter, taller metal street light that has antennas on top. Same with your utility pole- it will get fatter and taller and have an ugly refrigerator sized box at bottom.
The Solution
We Must Raise Our Voices to Halt This Unfriendly ZTA! We need you to do two things:
This will be the ONLY public hearing on this hasty, resident-unfriendly zoning bill. Please plan to attend!
2. Submit testimony by email ASAP to the Council. Even if you cannot make the Sept 25 hearing you MUST write and CALL your council to inform them that you do not want antennas in our front yard. Tell them you do not want them to pass ZTA that allows wireless in you front yard.

3. Spread the word: Get this message out on your listservs and to all your neighbors. We must inform everyone we know to get the community involved. Every person needs to write the council, and especially their councilmember!
Call your councilmember NOW and talk to your representatives staff members and tell them you do not want a cell antennas in front of your home.
